knitting
hanna you wanted an update. and i have a feeling the rest of cyber space is DESPERATE to know.
the new developments on the knitting front are all thanks to ms blades, who gave me this genius book:

published in 1982, it contains patterns for sexy little numbers such as the following:

yeah i know what you are thinking... "i NEED one of those!!!" and it gets better. you see, ms una stubbs (the author) has thought of including patterns not only for trendy young women but for trendy young men and children too. there is a heavy penchant for coordinated outfits for all members of the family, as below:
i have been working on a pattern from that book, but one that is slightly more low-key...

my création is done in slightly less cute colours... my flatmate apphia's boyfriend george came back after christmas with two HUGE bags full of wool and they have generously donated some to me. fun fun fun.
watch this space for updates... sleeves are obviously to follow, and we'll see how i do with the assembling of the bits and pieces. hmm.
i forgot to take pics of the scarf i was working on before th holidays, i think this one is the only one i have... but then again it's complete with a gorgeous model and matching dog :)
and here is another scarf i have made... got the wool in that shop in paris, and now i have run out and it's a bit too small.
and here is a last pattern from The Knitting Book:

Wow Anna, the scarves are great!!! They look really good! And I think the colours you chose for the little baby pullover are really fun! Perhaps we'll have to exchange patterns some time soon! ;-) The photos of your knitting book are hilarious!!! I think you should definitely make some of those fab pullovers! ;-) I have one from the 80s too and the patterns are hysterically funny, and include things like toilet roll covers, tea cosies, body belts, kneecovers and even underpants!!! (all in the "Knitted Comforts"section!) I will have to post some photos on my blog when I get back!
